Dr Motebang is a Licensed Life and Business Coach. She is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Film and Publications Board. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Development Studies, Public Administration and Political Science; Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Development Studies (1993 - University of York; a postgraduate Certificate in Business Management and Economics (2001 Rand Afrikaans University). She held academic positions as a Senior Lecturer in Development Studies at several Universities including the University of Johannesburg and Pretoria. She has also worked extensively in learning and development for various entities including the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality where she was a Divisional Head for Learning and Development for more than five years. As a certified life and business coach she supports individuals and companies to enhance their performance in various development endeavours. Dr Motebang has served as a Non-Executive Director of the West Rand Development Agency and City Power – City of Johannesburg Municipality Entity. She has also been an independent consultant for many clients such as the Kellogg Foundation, Department of Local Government, European Union, World Bank and other Provincial Departments. She has also presented papers at key international conferences to name a few; the Beijing Women’s Conference and the UN Special Assembly on HIV/AIDS. She has been a member of several observer missions in SADC elections, has published numerous articles in reputable journals, and has co-authored two books dealing with Gender and Development. She describes herself as a ‘learning teacher and transformational leader’.
Ms Thakane Motebang is responsible for the Human Capital Management portfolio at Seithati Group. She is a registered Master Practitioner with the South African Board of People Practices with over 30 years' experience. Her qualifications include a Master of Arts Degree in Administration (University of Western Cape), Post-graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Honours in Personnel Management (University of Natal), Bachelor’s degree in Technology Management and Advanced Business Programme (Technikon Natal). She has 25 years of working experience in the private sector namely at The Natal Witness Group as General Manager (newspapers division), Human Resources Director and Human Resources Manager. Her most recent roles as Human Resources Manager were at AgriSeta and Tshwane Rapid Transit (Pty) Ltd. Her skills include developing human resources strategies, employee relations, organization and development, recruitment, policy formulation, learning and development including learnerships, metrics, budgeting, reporting, performance management among other aspects of the human capital value chain.
Ms Mapula Makara is a registered Attorney and Notary Public with an LLB degree in International Law at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland), an LLM (Environmental Law) from University of London. She has also completed a postgraduate course in Environmental Sociology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Ms Mapula has over 30 years of experience in participation, legal practice and development facilitation. Ms Mapula has worked for Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI) on a project assisting communities bordering the Kruger National Park in the Great Limpopo Trans-frontier Conservation Area to establish viable natural resource-based enterprises. She also worked for Sasol on environmental relations and communications, and for Jowell. Her previous international assignments were in donor and development organisations such as GTZ and SADC Water Sector
